77 US Troops Wounded in Taliban Truck Bombing on Afghan Base
KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Nearly 80 American soldiers were wounded and two Afghan civilians were killed in a Taliban truck bombing targeting an American base in eastern Afghanistan, NATO said Sunday, a stark reminder that the war in Afghanistan still rages 10 years after the Sept. 11 terror attacks against the United States.
The blast, which occurred late Saturday, shaved the facades from shops outside the Combat Outpost Sayed Abad in Wardak province and broke windows in government offices nearby, said Roshana Wardak, a former parliamentarian who runs a clinic in the nearby town of the same name. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

When will our troops be allowed to come home? Our best and brightest are being killed in a WAR that we are not fighting in a wise manner. We must bring them home, and start fighting this war that has been declared by radical Islamists, in a way we can win, instead of playing into the Islamists hands and give them the victory of defeating us, by making us bleed one cut at a time. I know I am not explaining this very well, but having our troops in Afghanistan is a fools exercise.
My prayers and thoughts go out to the families of these brave soldiers who lost their lives in battle. I am not anti military as my brother and half nephew were career military. My brother as air force who fought in the Viet Nam War. My nephew as army and is fighting in the current wars. If I had been born a man, I would have liked the navy myself.
