John Kerry: ‘This is the Tea Party Downgrade’
Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) continued his attack on the Tea Party on Sunday, calling Standard & Poor’s Friday downgrade of the U.S. credit rating “the Tea Party downgrade.”
Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” the former presidential candidate said the Tea Party was at fault after its members held up the negotiation process and refused to get on board with plans on the table.
“I believe this is without question the Tea Party downgrade,” Kerry said. “This is the Tea Party downgrade because a minority of people in the House of Representatives countered even the will of many Republicans in the United States Senate who were prepared to do a bigger deal, to do $4.7 trillion or $4 trillion, have a mix of reductions and reforms in social security, Medicare, Medicaid, but also recognize that we needed to do some revenue.”

As I pointed out yesterday and earlier today, Sen. Kerry is showing that he doesn’t have the truth on his side. If he had the truth on his side, he would discuss the issues and not revert to name calling, because he can’t discuss the facts. Sen Kerry is an example of what is wrong with Washington and our federal government today.
Sen. Kerry seems to lack the courage to admit the truth, that BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES ARE TO BLAME FOR THIS MESS. NO, he would rather blame everything on Conservatives. This is not a Democrat only problem or a Republican only problem. It is a Both of ours problem and we better start rolling up our sleeves and start working to solve the problem with real solutions and not the fake ones that come from both parties. They don’t want to deal with the root problems because they know it will cost them votes in the next election. That is all both parties really care about. They don’t care the because of their lack of courage in telling the people the truth, and doing what is needed passes the ball further down the street to be solved later. The problem is that we have reached the stone wall at the dead end street and there is no kicking the ball further down the street. yet, Congeress and our President refuse to see the truth, and continue to blame everyone else under the sun, but accept the truth that they are to blame also.
To Progressives for Conservatives to stand for their prinicples makes us terrorist, vampires, zombies, and as McCain called us Hobbets. Watch the Lord of the Rings last night, and the Hobbets were good guys, so even though it was ment as an insult, It is really a word of praise. For Conservatives to stand on truth, we are blamed for every evil thing under the sun. You Sen. Kerry and President Obama need to stop blaming others, but look in the mirror and take some of the blame on yourselves. You both are in the government. You both are in seats of power, so to only blame Conservatives for the problems, is a sham, that anyone with half a brain cell sees through.
Do you want to know whose fault it is for the downgrade? It is you Sen Kerry and Congress of both parties who for years have spent, spent, spent, with no thought of living within our means. It is President Obama and Presidents who went before him in both parties who are to blame. They too, just spent, spent, spent with no thought of the results of their spending addiction would have on future generations.
It isn’t the Conservatives, which include Tea Party members who are to blame. We were standing up for what is right. We need to get the spending under control and reign ourselves in. Yet, we have a government who doesn’t want to get our spending under control because to do what is really needed to solve the problem, will cost them votes. So it is the same ole same ole. Americans are getting really angry and see through the lies. That is why Americans do not trust, respect, or follow this government. We know 1. that they are lying to us, and couldn’t tell us the truth if their life depended on it. 2. That S&P was right to downgrade us to AA+, because the deal that they made was just another sham. The real spending cuts don’t happen until 2017. There is no willingness to do the right thing, over winning votes. Our leaders in government have forgotten about governing and only care about the next election and getting votes. It is a constant election, because every move is considered on if this vote or action is going to win me votes or loose me votes. They know this country is on a sucide path and they do nothing.
In 2012 we must vote out those men and women who are part of the problem and refuse to be honest and do what is necessary to save this nation from going off the cliff.
