John Kerry: Media Has ‘Responsibility’ to ‘Not Give Equal Time’ to Tea Party
John Kerry has waded into the media waters and now wants the news to cut out conservatives he doesn’t agree with.
During a discussion of the debt deal and the economy on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Friday, the current Massachusetts senator and former presidential candidate lambasted the Tea Party and conservatives and the idea that they should be given “equal time” in the media. According to him, their ideas are so whacky that they don’t deserve air time:
“And I have to tell you, I say this to you politely. The media in America has a bigger responsibility than it’s exercising today. The media has got to begin to not give equal time or equal balance to an absolutely absurd notion just because somebody asserts it or simply because somebody says something which everybody knows is not factual.
“It doesn’t deserve the same credit as a legitimate idea about what you do. And the problem is everything is put into this tit-for-tat equal battle and America is losing any sense of what’s real, of who’s accountable, of who is not accountable, of who’s real, who isn’t, who’s serious, who isn’t?”

I have a confession to make, when I lived in Massachusetts, I voted for John Kerry for Senator from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I even campaigned and held signs for him on election day, and encouraged people to go out and vote for him. This was back in the 80′s, as I moved out of Marshfield in 90. It has been 21 years since I have stepped foot in MA. One can’t take back their vote. Yet, I disagree very strongly with Kerry on this idea of his. I have never lacked the courage or maybe it is my foolishness, but I have always been able to say what I think and why I think what I do to those in power. They might not like what I have to say, but at least I am not afraid to tell them the truth.

Your suggestion sounds like you want to silent free speech and thought in this nation. The only speech and thought that you Progressive Democrats want is only speech and thoughts that agree with you. You want to silence and demonize Conservatives in this nation, under the label ” tea party”.
You Progressives deny you have any hate in your heart, but the truth is that you do. Sometimes I see very little difference between Progressives and White Nationalists, because you both spew HATE OF THOSE WHO ARE DIFFERENT THEN YOU. So I keep getting back to the question what is the difference between Progressives and White Nationalists. Both spew HATE toward me because I am a Conservative Catholic woman, who will not join either side because of the hate in your hearts toward others who are different then you.
Hate is hate Senator Kerry. You can try and justify your hate, like White Nationalists I know in real life, but the truth is that you are spewing hate. You come off as being holier then thou, but yet you hold hate in your heart toward Conservatives like myself. Both Progressives and White Nationalists are anti Catholic. Progressives hate Catholics because for the most part we try and practice the teachings of the church, which hold birth control and abortion is a sin. Yet, you Progressives want tax payers who Catholic to pay for birth control, which we believe is a sin. You want us to pay for abortion, when to us Catholics to try and live by the true Catholic faith, is murder. We have an 80 year old woman in our church who is on the government’s terrorist list for praying her rosary to end abortion. We have elderly men who are Catholic who are arrested because they prayed a rosary to end abortion. White Nationalists think we Catholics are race traitors because we stand with Israel and the Jewish people. So Conservative Catholics get hate spewed at them from both camps. Now you want to silence us from being able to speak in the public square. What is next? Will you arrest us for being Conservative Catholics? Will you make it against the Law to be Conservative or Catholic/Christian/Jewish/ moderate Muslim?
My family line goes back to the Mayflower. After the Fuller’s left Plymouth Plantation, they went to Cape Cod and were part of the founding Fathers of Barnstable County. I am a Political Daughter of the American Revolution. I have always loved this nation and our history. Yet, I worry, because I see this government moving in a direction that I worry, will justify hating Conservatives and Catholic/Christians/Jews etc.
I am not proud of this, but I spent years within the White Nationalist cult. I know what Hitler and the Nazi’s did when they first gained power. They slowly removed the rights from Jews only. Progressive Democrats like you in power, are slowly removing the rights of free speech and thought, only on Conservatives/Catholics/Christians, Jews, etc who disagree with your policies.
I as a true American who believes in the Constitution, would die to protect your right Senator Kerry for you to speak and think as you like. I don’t want to silence you, as you want to silence Conservative Catholics. Yet, you won’t die for my right of free speech and free thought, as you want to silence and take away my rights as Americans, just because I am Conservative and Catholic who believes in the teachings of my church. The sad thing is that like White Nationalists, Progressives don’t see their hate either. It is I don’t hate anyone, but I do what I do because of love.
To you Progressives any American who stands and fights for their principles, is sub human and should be denied rights.
Senator Kerry, the truth is that when someone can’t discuss the issues without facts, they resort to name calling and silence them by taking away their right to free speech and thought. You wanting to silence the Conservative voice tells me you don’t have the truth on your side to discuss this issue. We live in a world where it is upside down. Truth is considered a lie, and a lie is considered the truth. Hate of others is labeled as love, and love is labeled as hate.
I know at some point I will be killed because I refuse to join either your side of Progressive thought or White Nationalism, because of their hate toward Israel and Jews. I accept my fate, and am determine to do what christ would have me do as a Catholic woman of faith.
Senator Kerry, a government like a man needs to earn the respect given him. A government or a man can’t just demand respect. You and others in our government have not earned the respect of the American people. We the people know you are lying to us. We know that our system is corrupted and that you only think of yourselves and not us. Both parties are to blame. Both parties lie and both parties are part of the problem and not the solution. It is the same ole same ole, with both parties. George Washington and John Adams were right in saying that they feared that political parties would one day be more important then the nation. That government would care more for winning the next election then doing what has to be done, when it has to be done. Both parties are kicking the ball down the street and not dealing with the root issues because you know that it will cost you votes. The street is a dead end street and we are quickly hitting the wall and will not be able to go any further of kicking the ball down the street. This deal is terrible. It is not going to bring us any closer to paying our debt down. We the people are sick and tired of chicago style politics of backroom deals, and not open for people to read and for members of Congress to add ammendments. And you wonder why people don’t trust you in Congress or the President?
Are you a man of truth and honor? Are you a righteous man who won’t lie, and will stand up for people who are being lied about? It seems to me that you are not, as you are repeating lies that are being told about Conservatives.
