RI Dem. Candidate for Governor: Obama Can Take His Endorsement and ‘Shove It’
Democratic Rhode Island gubernatorial candidate Frank Caprio is upset with President Obama. So upset, in fact, he told the president he can “shove it” in regards to a refusal to endorse Caprio. A little context.
Caprio became livid after it was reported on Monday that the president will not endorse Caprio during a visit to the state today. Although Caprio didn’t request an endorsement, he says the move is an example of Washington politics “at its worst.”
See, one of the people running against Caprio is Lincoln Chafee. Although now running as an independent, back in 2008 Chafee was a Republican senator who endorsed Barack Obama for president.
Caprio sees this as Obama paying Chafee back for that endorsement.
“He can take his endorsement and really shove it,” Caprio told local Rhode Island radio station WPRO.
“We had one of the worst floods in the history of the United States a few months back and President Obama didn’t even do a fly over of Rhode Island. He ignored us and now he’s coming into Rhode Island and treating us like an ATM machine,” Caprio added.
“I‘ll wear as a badge of honor and a badge of courage that he doesn’t want to endorse me as a Democrat, because I am a different type of Democrat.”
I am not a Democrat and have no loyality to the Democrat party. Yet, I admire Mr. Caprio for his courage in telling the truth. Why would an HONEST man want the endorcement of a DISHONEST MAN WHO DOES NOTHING BUT LIE?
I would have more respect for Democrats if they had the courage of this man and stand up to the President. Heard on talk radio this morning that President Obama is giving in to China about some war games because he doesn’t want to offend China. That is a much of crap. That is not the real reason why Obama does as China wants. Let’s at least be honest. It has nothing to do with the G20 Summit either. Yet, most of the Democrats will continue to cover up for President Obama’s lies and be like bobble heads that don’t really have the courage to stand up and do what is best for this nation or the American people. They would rather remain in the inner circle so they will do as they are told and be quiet and not rock the boat.
We have a President who spends like we are living in boom times. We are facing a record defict and he and his wife are spending money on their good times and the good times of their many friends. There attitude is let the rest of us eat cake while they enjoy themselves and the perks of being President. He doesn’t CARE about the rest of us who are suffering because of lack of jobs out there. All he cares about is having a good ole time. He takes a lot more vacations then President George W. Bush and yet the Progressive Democrats remain silent when they were so outspoken about Bush. Obama does the same thing and they are silent. What hyprocrits.
I love elections and I love being active in them. This is one election that I will be glad is over as hopefully we can find a way to move forward and govern, but the sad reality is the Democrats don’t want to find a way to work with Republicans or Conservative Moderates, because they will use this lack of working together as fodder for their campaign in 2012. We all know the game. They know how fickle Americans can be. Look at the change with regards to President Obama in just two years.
I also know that during elections both sids accuse the other side of things. Both sides want to win. If you don’t play to win, then why bother to even play? AFTER THE ELECTION I HOPE THAT WE CAN LISTEN TO THE OTHER SIDE WITH AN OPEN MIND AND SEEK WAYS TO WORK TOGETHER TO DO THE TOUGH PART OF GOVERNING. So I will be back to listening to Progressive media after the election because I hope it will be less Republican bashing and more education on the issues. I don’t like it when Conservative media only attacks Democrats and doesn’t educate people on the issues. Yes, this is campaign talk and so this time of year we will hear the generalizing on both sides.
I had a dream last night. I dreamed of an old friend who I haven’t seen in over 20 years. He and his wife would come down and spend the afternoons with their two boys. He is a Democrat and I am still a Republican at heart. This person and I tend to disagree and neither one of us are afraid to stand up for what we believe. At least I used to think that this person would have the courage to face me and tell me the truth as one Catholic to another. I deserve to hear it from his own lips the truth about the accusations that were made and that I suffered abused for because I defended this man’s honor. After all this time, I still haven’t let go. HE is part of the PTSD. I do pray for this friend everynight. I am not angry with this person because even though he hurt me by not talking to me and telling me the truth as a fellow Catholic, he is still my Catholic brother who I am commanded to love as Christ loves.
I dream of this friend from time to time. Most times my dream has an happy ending where we talk and work things out as two Catholics should. I know wishful thinking. At the same time I am learning to let go and pray that even if this Catholic brother continues to refuse to do the right thing and talk to me that the Lord will help me move forward so that I can find peace in life. I am a good person who has a loving heart. I am to trusting and that leads me to trust the wrong people but I have a good heart. Why can’t I have a little happiness and peace in this world? Why shouldn’t I be able to go to Scotland and live there for a time so I can heal?
Both sides generalize and demigod the issues. Both Parties need to take an honest look at themselves and make much needed changes. HONESTY SHOULD BE A VALUE THAT IS PRACTICED BY BOTH DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS. But we all know it isn’t.
President Obama because he LIED and continues to LIE needs to step down. We have a President that the AMERICAN PEOPLE DON’T KNOW IF HE IS TELLING THEM THE TRUTH. ONCE TRUST IN A PERSON’S HONESTY IS LOST IT IS LOST FOREVER. Maybe Obama will be the poster child of what happens when AMERICANS GET SICK AND TIRED LEADERS WHO LIE?
Will the Democrats PURGE THEIR PARTY AND GET RID OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO LIE? Will the Republicans PURGE THEIR PARTY AND GET RID OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO FOR THEIR OWN PERSONAL GREED CORRUPT THE SYSTEM?
This time of year we are Democrats vs Republicans but once the election is OVER we go back to BEING AMERICANS. IF THE CHILDREN HAVE ANY FUTURE IT WILL BE BECAUSE WE STOPPED PUTTING POLITICAL PARTY FIRST OVER THEM. WE MUST START WORKING TOGETHER AS AMERICANS ON ISSUES THAT EFFECT ALL OF US. WE MUST STOP PLAYING POLITICS ALL YEAR EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THE WEEK. IT IS LIKE THE ELECTION NEVER ENDS IN THIS COUNTRY AND SO WE NEVER COME TOGETHER TO GOVERN.
In Saline County Kansas where I used to live and where my family first came to that city in the 1800′s they still manage to run a clean election and both sides are talking about the issues. It is not personal attacks filled with lies but they are talking about the issues that are effecting Saline County. Randy Duncan is a good man who I knew when I as living there. The woman he is running against I don’t know, but I was impressed with the fact that neither one of them is playing the dirty tricks that are being played in the rest of the country. The best person will win and whoever looses will shake the hand of the winner and everyone will move forward to govern. I had my first taste of politics in Salina. I loved talking to people about the issues and talking to adults about who they were going to vote for. The rest of the country could learn something from the County Commissioner race in Saline County Kansas.
