Is Vandalizing Columbus Statue a ‘Hate Crime’?
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (The Blaze/AP) — A statue of Christopher Columbus in Providence, R.I. was doused in red paint and a sign reading “murderer” was hung around its waist over the Columbus Day holiday.
WJAR-TV reports the vandalism was discovered Monday morning.
The statue of a standing and pointing Columbus sits at a busy intersection in the capital city.
Police say they are investigating it as vandalism.
A representative of the Sons of Italy tells WPRO-AM that he would like the vandalism to be investigated as a hate crime against Italians.
“When a kid spray paints the side of a building, that’s vandalism”, Raymond Dettore of the local Sons of Italy told WPRO’s John Depetro. “When they do something like this that sends a message I think it above an average vandalism case.”

I agree with the Sons of Italy that it is a hate crime. If a statue of Martin Luther King had vandalized Blacks would have screamed out it was a hate crime against Blacks. We all know that we have a double standard in this country. Even though some people would rather hide their head in the sand and deny that reverse racism is happening now in this country.
At the same time, just because we live in a society that hates Whites, doesn’t mean that we become White Nationalists who HATE too. HATE is never right. Just because I refuse to join with the White Nationalists in their hate toward non whites, doesn’t mean I am anti white and am joining with the antis who hate too. In fact just yesterday I stood up to an anti who has so much hate in his heart he talks about putting all Whites in a small area of their own so he can kill them. Yet, that is not considered hate speech to say as a Black he wants to put Whites into concentration camps to be killed. So I am still waiting for the answer to my question of WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHITE NATIONALISTS AND PROGRESSIVES WHO BOTH HATE?
I CHOOSE CHRIST AND LIKE SAINTS WHO HAVE WALKED BEFORE ME I will do my best to be a good soldier in Christ. In Nazi Germany there were Christians who stood up to Hitler and his HATE. Their were priests who died in concentration camps who were there because they refused to keep silent at what was happening. I know the master I serve and it is Christ.
Yes, there is a day coming when Whites will be rounded up if Black Nationalists get their way. We live in a time where Black Nationalist hate toward Whites is excused by our justice dept, as they don’t believe Whites deserve equal rights. People don’t understand why most Americans don’t trust our own government? They LIE to us all the time. To them the ends justify the means so they don’t care if they LIE, CHEAT, STEAL, etc to gain their goal. The ends DON’T justify the means and HONOR, TRUTH, AND JUSTICE are very important. We will be judged. WE DON’T RESPECT OUR GOVERNMENT OR POLITICAL LEADERS. WE KNOW THEY ARE NOT TELLING US THE TRUTH.
Like everything else this act of Hate will be excused and ignored because the victim of the hate are White.
Next, they will try and twist the Pilgrims as EVIL RACISTS. In some schools they are already teaching the children that they were evil people who murdered and the native Americans were saints.
