Recently, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. This historic legislation takes the first vital steps to address climate change and help our vanishing polar bears and other species whose existence in the wild is threatened by climate change.

But now the debate moves to the Senate, and the fight is far from finished. While the bill provides a promising first step, we need the Senate to pass and strengthen comprehensive legislation that will safeguard America’s ecosystems, wildlife and natural resources.
