20 years ago: Chernobyl

I posted this clip with the hope that those of you who support the building of more nuclear power plants would watch this with an open mind.

I remember reading a book with first hand accounts of what the people who lived near Chernobyl had to go through. What happen to them and the horror stories that they are still living.

Chernobyl Decay and Deformed

Watch this clip and see the faces of the children and tell me that nuclear power is safe.

Why is there such an unwillingness to move forward with renewables?

I agree with you 100%. I personally visited the Chernobyl area for two days in June 2006 with a friend and former resident of Pripyat. We toured the Chernobyl Plant (including the Reactor 4 control room), several of the abandoned villages, and Pripyat. I have posted a photo journal of my trip at:

My Journey to Chernobyl: 20 Years After the Disaster
